DVF has been following her own path since she was young. She describes herself as a hunter who always persues what she wants. It shows that this has worked for her!! She is now a powerful icon of great feminine clothing starting with the famous wrap dress. She met Prince Egon von Furstenberg when she was studying at the University of Geneva. She had two children with him a later got divorced. She took a break from her company during the 80's and then returned. In 2006, she was elected president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. She is invloved in many charities and likes to empower other women.
